My friend Ashley Kurpiel, you may remember her family portrait session that I shot back in Nov. suffers from FOP a rare bone disease that turns muscle to bone. Ashley is amazing she is a advocate and lobbies for FOP research, traveling and attending charity, and research events always with a smile on her face. She has been blessed with so many opportunity to educate and bring FOP into the spotlight.


I admire her and her family so much I'm so proud of her for being a voice for herself and others that suffer from FOP.


Tomorrow, the 25th @ 4pm EST. Ashley will be on the Tyra Banks show so be sure and support her by watching!!

I love it when it all comes together and it doesn't get much better than Marianna and Blake.
After weeks of rescheduling due to unstoppable rain we finally had a beautiful day to go out and shoot and boy was it worth it! First we headed down to the docks and then to a beautiful field, with perfect light it was just amazing.

Thanks so much guys I can't wait for the wedding!

why i want to go to WPPI:

I was over at Tofurios this site contains loads of great info, when I came across the entry to win passes to WPPI but the catch is that you have to explain why you want to attend.

After thinking about that question for a day I still had only a short and simple answer.
I believe with all my heart that when you share your talents with the world, the world opens it’s self to you. I want to attend WPPI because I want to share, learn and grow.
As simple as that is that’s why I want to attend WPPI.

In the name of art I drew blood...that's right as I was racing to get "the shot" I got something else instead, pain. Was it worth it??

ok so as a photographer the one thing i need is my eyes and lastnight as I removed the overabundant amount of carefully applied mascara I managed to put the cotton ball directly into my eye...what?
It's not like I'm new at this, close your eye jessica and apply.
Sometimes I just have to laugh at my self...

At least I still have my sight this morning :)

fun trip:

This morning I loaded all my gear in the car and that was a task in it's self. I started down the road and headed to Florida,it was a trip filled with LOTS of rain and a little construction but I finally made it! After hanging out with some amazing gals I'm tucked into my king size bed and am ready to get some good rest. I'm not letting you guys in on to much but let me just tell you it's good....really good!!

a sweet surprise:

I woke this morning with a long list of “to do’s” after a cup of chi tea and a banana I was off and running. The first thing on my list as always is to check my email and among all of the junk mail, inquires and correspondences with Scarlet …more on that later…was a facebook note from Suzanne.


"WOW!!!! The pictures look AMAZING!!! I snuck a peek at work and I honestly started to cry, I was so happy! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! YOU ROCK!!! :)"


As I took it in with a wide smile on my face, I began to think…
It’s amazing that people embrace my vision of who they are, how I see them thru my eyes, and love it. It gives me such confidence that this is what I am suppose to do with my life, that I’m in the right place and so blessed to be here. I know I say it a lot but I love what I do, I couldn’t image doing anything else or giving a better gift to someone than memories.

Where do I start and how do I do this couple justice? Suzanne and Chris are amazing,end of story!

When I had my first meeting with Suzanne i felt like we were instant friends, at our e-shoot Chris was kind, funny and cool, I knew exactly why she loves him...he's just a great person!They are one of my favorite couples of all time....seriously I love their style, music and humor.

Celebrating at the Fox Theater with a beautiful wedding ceremony in the Egyptian ballroom followed by a magical reception. I felt so honored to capture some amazing moments with a gorgeous couple at a gorgeous location. I have never seen a reception as fun as this one...it was a blast and the music, awesome! Maid of honor Chelsea was the best ever, she was on the ball, funny and a great dancer to boot...I just love her!

Thank you both so much, and a big thank you to all their friends and family for making me feel so welcomed.

A Thank to Jolie too for lugging all of our equipment all over the Fox.
