a day to give thanks:

Thanksgiving is a day that I always look forward to, this year however not only was it hard physically but it was mentally draining. I spent the first part of the day nursing this cold/flu that I have been working on for a week now. Then it was off to my Mothers house for thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately it was bitter sweet not only because my dad had to work but because worst of all one of the most important people in my life was noticeably absent.

For the last few months my grandfather has been in and out of the hospital, two days before Thanksgiving he was rushed to the hospital early in the morning with another complication from the congestive heart failure that he has been battling for the last year.

As we had a very quiet, meager dinner until my sister and I couldn't take it any longer and headed to the Hospital with desserts in hand. As I opened the door to his room nothing could have prepared me for what I would see inside.
My grandfather looked as if he had lost one hundred pounds, he was nothing but skin and bones, it was terrifying. In my head all I could think was....

well I'm not going to say what I was thinking I'm trying to stay positive.

Here is a man that came into my life when I was six....a strong, sweet, caring man something that was almost new to me at that age and he took me in just like I was his own and gave me so much opportunity to grow in a safe environment. I am so grateful to him and grateful for him.

So I give thanks, even if it was in a hospital room....I give thanks to have him for one more Thanksgiving

james + claire:

A night of perfect pairs and twilight. I spend Saturday evening with James and Claire at Inman Park United Methodist Church. The church is a beautiful historic church with plaster walls and detailed woodwork. The church was filled with beautiful music from the amazing musicians that filled the alter. After we walked down to the Trolley Barn and enjoyed a night filled with music and dancing.
I had fun meeting new people and making new friends as well as learning that even grown men read Twilight and proudly tell a reception hall full of people. As you might have guessed he got huge props from me.

Thank you everyone you were all amazing!

bryan + liz:

This couple are one of my personal faves not only because they are sweet, fun and a great looking couple but because they are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. The wedding and reception took place at Bullock Springs Manor, a beautiful place for an out door ceremony. I could not wait to see Liz in her wedding gown she didn't disappoint with her beautiful jeweled strapless gown. The day was perfect, warm but not hot, the sunlight was bright but soft...perfect. The bridal party was made up of the most gorgeous children, beautiful bridesmaids and handsome groomsmen, you couldn't ask for more.
Surrounded by family, friends and the most adorable kids ever you can see how much they are loved!

Congrats Liz and Bryan!

rudy + katherine:

Talk about two cute kids!!
Working with the Whaley family earlier in the year I knew that these two were going to be amazing. Smart, funny and just adorable, you couldn't ask for better kids to work with.
We had lots of fun exploring train tracks, if you haven't guessed by this cute sweater Rudy love trains. We also ran around by the lake and had a blast playing peekaboo around a fence, Katherine is a fun little girl with lots of spunk so it was perfect for her.

Playing and capturing kids being them self's is the best part of my job...not to mention a great work out too!

flu + pneumonia = one sick little girl:

So the last few weeks have been crazy, little A has the flu and after x-rays we saw on top of that she developed pneumonia. Yes a small case but still it scares me! I'm in hopes that I can get back to work tomorrow...I have a ton of work to get back to.

Thanks for all the well wishes, please continue to keep A in your thoughts so that she will recover quickly and be a-ok.

sick days are the best days:

Little A has had a very high fever for the past two days, as I have been nurse, waiter and maid it strikes me that I don't care.
Having these days to share just her and I are some of the sweetest days.

andrea+matthew

Andrea and Matthew...Matt one of my great couples who got married in 2008 came down from Tennessee last weekend to shoot some new images of their family that now includes a few furry members.

I was so happy to see them, I remember the wedding well. They were so much fun and her family had to have the kids jumping shot...so cute!
It was so great to see them and see how they have grown together...even though the furry family members were slightly distracted by the water they did a great job.

Thank you so much guys it was great seeing you and I hope to see you again soon!
